Ms Yasmin Ismail BDS, MBBS, MRCS, FRCS[Plast]

Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgeon

Ms Ismail is a dual qualified Consultant Plastic Surgeon having obtained both dental and medical qualifications in Glasgow and Newcastle in the United Kingdom.  She is on the Specialist Register with both the General Medical Council [GMC] and Irish Medical Council [IMC].

Following an anatomy demonstratorship at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Hospital in Central London in 2000, Basic Surgical Training was pursued in Bristol at Frenchay Hospital and University College, London followed by a clinical research post in Plastic Surgery in Newcastle in 2004.  A Higher Surgical Training post was awarded competitively and commenced in Liverpool with 5 years of further registrar training completed in Glasgow at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery & Burns Unit.  Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons [FRCS[Plast]] was awarded in 2012 and entry as a Specialist followed in 2013.

Further Fellowship training was undertaken at the renowned Christie Cancer Hospital in Manchester focusing on skin cancer / soft tissue oncology, perineal & gynaecology reconstruction and microvascular surgery.  The prestigious, highly competitive Mentor Aesthetic.

Fellowship was awarded and undertaken at the distinguished King Edward VII Hospital in Marylebone, Central London and Harley Street.

Ms Ismail worked as a Consultant at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin in 2014.  Since 2015, she has been based in the UK as a   Consultant Plastic Surgeon in the NHS primarily in Scotland including the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit.  Whilst based in Dublin and Glasgow, she participated in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate plastic surgery trainees.   She was an undergraduate medical school examiner [OSCE] at UCD and University of Glasgow.  Active involvement in teaching is still maintained and she was appointed as a GMC Associate in 2019.

Currently, her interests include surgical management of all forms of skin cancer, trauma including face and limbs, perineal & gynaecology reconstruction, general plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery.  She also takes a keen interest in trauma to the labia after birth including tears and asymmetry.   Her manner with patients has been described as straightforward based honesty and realistic expectations with a focus on the individual patient journey.

Dr Damien Rushe

Dr Damien Rushe, B.A., M.Sc., D.Clin.Psych.

Senior Paediatric Clinical Psychologist

Dr Rushe is a Senior Clinical Psychologist, working with children and adolescents. Dr Rushe holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the National University of Ireland, Galway, a Masters degree in applied psychology from Trinity College Dublin, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, & Neuroscience at King’s College London.

Dr Rushe has worked in a variety of psychological services for children and young people across Ireland and the UK, including both primary care psychology services, and child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS). As part of his doctoral training, he completed a placement at the national and specialist Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression Clinic in the internationally-renowned Michael Rutter Centre for Children & Young People at the Maudsley Hospital, London. His doctoral thesis focused on the cognitive processes that lead to depression in adolescents.

Dr Rushe is highly experienced in treating the most commonly experienced psychological difficulties in children and adolescents, including low mood or anxiety-related difficulties, and predominantly utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). He is also skilled in assisting parents/carers to support children and adolescents who are experiencing emotional or behavioral problems. Dr Rushe is qualified to perform neuropsychological assessments and psycho-educational assessments for children or adolescents who may be presenting with queried developmental or learning difficulties.

As a clinical psychologist, Dr Rushe does not prescribe medication but works to understand difficulties from a psychological perspective.

Dr Rory O’Hanlon

Dr O’Hanlon qualified in 1999 from UCD and went on to complete his cardiology and general medical training in Ireland until moving to complete his Fellowship in cardiovascular magnetic resonance and structural cardiomyopathies in the Royal Brompton Hospital between 2006 and 2009.  He returned to Ireland in 2009 and set up the first dedicated Cardiac MRI Centre.  This service is now expanding to the Beacon Hospital.

Dr O’Hanlon and his colleague Dr Deirdre Waterhouse currently scan over 5,000 patients a year.  Dr O’Hanlon has a Level 3 accreditation through the European Society of Cardiovascular imaging in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and through the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance in the USA.  He continues to publish in peer review medical journals on aspects on the role of cardiovascular magnetic resonance and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and other structural cardiomyopathies. He lectures internationally.  He is also part of the Aspetar cardiovascular magnetic resonance team in Qatar providing Cardiac MRI reporting services for international athletes screened through their sports screening service.

Dr Michel de Wildt

Dr Michel de Wildt, Consultant Urologist

Before moving to Ireland, I worked as a Consultant Urologist for almost 20 years in Catharina Hospital Eindhoven: a non-academic training hospital in the Southeast of the Netherlands. I am mainly specialised in minimally invasive endo-urological procedures for stone disease, prostate enlargement and pediatric urology.

In 2015 I was the first to introduce a novel approach for treatment of benign prostatic enlargement in The Netherlands and performed over 300 cases since then.

The reason for our move to Ireland was that my Irish wife (after having lived in the Netherlands for almost 20 years) really missed her Irish culture, the nature and most of all the community sense she experienced growing up in the West of Ireland. My children wanted to better understand the Irish culture and also to experience Irish family life.

I really enjoy life here in Ireland. With an abundance of beautiful golf courses, I never get bored. I also cannot wait to explore the many scenic routes in Ireland on my race bike, or in my almost 45 year old Italian sportscar. Stopping every now and then to enjoy the local (sea)food and breath taking views as well.

Mr Deepak Thomas

Mr Deepak Thomas is a Specialist Oral Surgeon and is one of few dual qualified in Ireland, with both a Medical and Dental Degree. He is on the Irish register of Specialist Surgeons and has worked previously for the Dublin Dental Hospital and School. After finishing his Medical Degree at Trinity College Dublin, he successfully completed his Intercollegiate Membership training and examinations in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons. He has been awarded a Fellowship in Oral Surgery with Oral Medicine after completing appropriate training from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

She holds specialist qualifications in General and Respiratory medicine and holds sub speciality expertise in lung transplantation medicine. She was the youngest female appointed consultant to the prestigious State Heart & Lung Transplant unit at St Vincent’s hospital Sydney, Australia. A dual Finnish and Australian citizen, Amy has worked internationally extensively with her Masters in Public health being awarded by the university of Piemonte in Italy, when she was undertaking further studies and work experience at Cambridge university hospitals and Royal Papworth hospital. A mother of 4 young children Amy successfully balances the demands of a highly skilled professional position with a young family.
