Dr Khalid El Kholy

Dr Khalid El Kholy is a Consultant Respiratory and General Internal Medicine Physician with international experience in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine. He is recently appointed as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) and a Fellow of the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine of Ireland (FJFICMI), and holds the European Diploma in Adult Respiratory Medicine.

Having recently practised as a Consultant in Canada across major centres in Nova Scotia, including Halifax, Dr Kholy brings a broad international perspective to the care of patients with both common and complex respiratory conditions. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of adult respiratory medicine and General Internal Medicine, with special interests in Airway Disease, Pleural Disease, Lung Cancer, and Critical Care Medicine.

A particular aspect of his day-to-day care is the use of Point-of-Care Heart & Lung Ultrasound at the bedside, integrating modern ultrasound techniques into everyday clinical practice to enhance diagnosis, guide treatment and provide a more personalised assessment of patients.

Dr Kholy believes that excellent respiratory medicine extends beyond treating illness to helping patients protect and improve their long-term lung health. He has a particular passion for Smoking Cessation and places great importance on Exercise, Physical Conditioning and Pulmonary Rehabilitation as integral components of respiratory care. He believes that improving how a person breathes is not always achieved through medication alone, and that preventative measures combined with appropriate exercise and rehabilitation can play a transformative role in restoring functional capacity and confidence.
