Prof Jonathan Hourihane

He has moved from University College Cork, where he had held a similar Chair since 2005. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1987 and undertook his higher training in Southampton, and London, UK.

Jonathan Hourihane holds the role of Professor of Paediatrics in RCSI and Consultant Paediatrician in Children’s Hospital Ireland Temple Street. His clinical service in the Beacon Hospital specialises in children with allergic conditions, such as food allergy and hay fever/rhinitis. He is one of the world leading paediatric allergists and is at the forefront of recent and ongoing studies of oral and epicutaneous immunotherapy for peanut allergy.
