Training:
Mr Paul Nicholson graduated from UCD in 1987. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1992 and was awarded his Masters of Surgery (MCh) in 1998. Following completion of the Irish Higher Surgical Orthopaedic Training programme, Mr Nicholson was awarded the FRCS (Tr and Orth) in 1998, and was granted the Certificate of Specialised Training (CSST) in 2001. He is on the Specialist Register with the Medical Council of Ireland.
He spent two years in Melbourne, Australia on a Hip/Knee Arthroplasty and Trauma Fellowship
Experience:
Mr Nicholson was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Consultant to the Meath and Adelaide Hospital in 2002, where he worked until 2012. He is a member of the Irish Institute of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Mr Nicholson’s special interests are in hip and knee joint replacement, performing over 300 cases per year. He also has interests in trauma, knee arthroscopy and anterior cruciate reconstruction.
