Dr Khash Nikookam

Dr Nikookam is a Consultant Endocrinologist and General Physician with over 30 years of experience. He currently has specialist endocrine clinics at Beacon Hospital, Dublin. He is also a consultant in London within the NHS since 1997 based at King George Hospital, part of Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. His clinical expertise spans the full breadth of diabetes and endocrinology, coupled with long-standing involvement in general medicine.

He served as Clinical Lead in Endocrinology in his NHS trust Hospital from 2004 to 2010, Endocrinology Clinical Director 2010 to 2012 and later Division Director of Specialist Medicine 2018 to 2023 covering departments of diabetes and endocrinology, Cardiology, rheumatology, renal medicine, dermatology, respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, stroke, hepatology, neurology and neurosurgery. These Leadership roles involved managing complex services pathways, driving innovation, overseeing multidisciplinary teams, and delivering of both clinical excellence and meeting of important financial performance targets.

Dr Nikookam has led development of local NHS endocrine services in London in collaboration with surgical teams for complex adrenal, thyroid and parathyroid cases.
