Dr Ruairi J Fahy MD, FCCP. FRCPI
Dr. Fahy is a Consultant Respiratory Physician in Beacon Hospital and a Senior Lecturer at Trinity College Dublin and Consultant Respiratory Physician at St James Hospital. He graduated from University College Galway in 1988 and completed his SHO training scheme in Mater-St. Vincents Scheme. He received his MRPCI certification in 1991, before completing a residency in University of Nebraska Medical centre, followed by a Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He remained there as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and obtained NIH funding to research acute lung injury and fibrosis. He was conferred a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2001. He returned to St James Hospital in 2006 and also commenced work in Beacon that year. He was conferred a Fellow of RCPI in 2008.
In addition to general respiratory and sleep medicine, Dr. Fahy has a special interest in Sarcoidosis, Rheumatologic, Immunologic and fibrotic lung diseases. He provides a complete range of respiratory services in Beacon hospital including, lung function testing, bronchoscopy, and sleep studies.
