About Dr Cummins

Dr Donna Cummins is a Consultant Dermatologist and fellowship trained hair specialist. She has extensive experience managing common and complex conditions with expertise in both medical and surgical dermatology.

She has a particular clinical interest in hair and scalp disease, skin cancer, acne, eczema and psoriasis.

Dr Cummins completed her medical training and postgraduate specialist training at internationally recognised centres including Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge; Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London; and Salford Royal Hospital, Manchester. She has received advanced training in medical dermatology, skin cancer care and specialist dermatology services. She completed the prestigious UK Fellowship in Hair and Scalp Disorders, including specialist training at NYU Langone, New York, a world-leading centre internationally recognised for expertise in hair disorders.

Dr Cummins is a Consultant Dermatologist at Beacon Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). Her research focus is on hair disorders. She has co-authored the UK national training curriculum on hair disorders and the third edition of the textbook “Hair Loss & Restoration” in addition to contributing to several textbook chapters.

She has published widely in dermatology and hair research and presents her work at international meetings. Dr Cummins has received national and international awards from organisations including the Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland (RAMI), the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) UK, St John’s Institute of Dermatology, London, the European Hair Research Society and the American Hair Research Society.
