Training & Experience:

Dr O’Dwyer completed both medical school and a PhD at Trinity College, Dublin. Following his anaesthesia training in Ireland, he completed subspecialty training in intensive care medicine in Australia. He is a fellow of the College of Anaesthetists (Ireland), the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (Ireland) and the College of Intensive Care Medicine (Australia and New Zealand).

For many years he led a research laboratory at Queen Mary, University of London and Barts Health NHS Trust, with a focus on genomic pathways related to sepsis. Dr O’Dwyer is the current lead of the National Clinical Programme for Sepsis.
