Dr Emma Tierney

Dr Emma Tierney is a Consultant Dermatologist at Beacon Hospital. She is a dual-qualified Pharmacist and Consultant on the specialist register of the Irish Medical Council.

Dr Tierney studied Pharmacy at University College Cork where she achieved a first-class honours. She then completed a Master of Pharmacy at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Following this, she graduated top of her class in Medicine at the University of Limerick Graduate Entry Medical School and received the Gold Medal in Medicine. She went on to complete post-graduate training across several Irish hospitals. This included five years of higher specialist training in Dermatology with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, and formal expert cosmetic training at the Institute of Dermatologists.

Dr Tierney is now actively involved in medical education. She has been a clinical tutor for RCPI’s Professional Diploma in Dermatology and contributed to university medical teaching programmes. Dr Tierney has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and served as an expert reviewer. She has also presented her research at both national and international conferences.
