Her LLM dissertation examined oral health care in Ireland in relation to compliance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). She advocates for paediatric oral health in Ireland and believes strongly in helping parents understand the importance of oral health, preventive care and early visits for children. She currently serves the Clinical Advisory Committee of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry. She is a faculty member of the Paediatric Procedural Sedation and Analgesia group in Maastricht in the Netherlands.
She provides lectures for post graduate education both nationally and internationally and is a reviewer for the journals of the European Archives in Paediatric Dentistry, International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry and the Irish Dental Association.
At her practice she delivers a tertiary referral service for paediatric patients who are compromised in relation to their dental health for reasons such as young age, autism, intellectual disability, dental anxiety, needle phobia, generalised anxiety, and sensory processing issues. She treats children with non-pharmacological techniques such as behaviour shaping and desensitisation, inhalation sedation and general anaesthetic.
