Prof Declan Cody is a Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin. Declan graduated from UCC and completed his paediatric training in Ireland and subsequently in Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. He was appointed as a Paediatric Endocrinology consultant in University Hospitals Leicester in 2002 before being appointed as Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in 2006.
Declan was a National Specialty Director of the Paediatric Specialist training programme from 2008-2014 and is the current RCPI Paediatric lead for the International Fellowship programme in Paediatrics. He was appointed as UCD Clinical Professor in 2018.
Declan’s main clinical interests are in thyroid and pituitary abnormalities, early and delayed puberty, short stature and growth hormone deficiency, obesity, adolescent medicine including PCOS and adrenal disorders.
