Training & Experience:
Dr Syed Anwar is a Consultant Gastroenterologist here in Beacon Hospital, and is also a JAG certified Endoscopist. Dr Anwar has a specialty certificate in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from Royal College of Physicians in the UK.
After completing his training in Gastroenterology, Dr Anwar undertook an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship in Queen’s University Hospital in London. Through the fellowship he gained experience in ERCP, EUS, large polypectomy, upper and lower GI Therapeutic Endoscopy and colon cancer surveillance. Following this Dr Anwar worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Queen’s University Hospital London.
Dr Anwar moved to Ireland in 2018 and worked for 5 years in Tallaght University Hospital. Dr Anwar is also experienced in managing IBD, hepatic failure, and Barrett’s oesophagus.
Dr Anwar has a special interest in teaching and has authored a number of publications.
