Training

After completing basic surgical training and earning the award of CCBST, Mr Merghani studied higher surgical training in the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. Mr Merghani also completed an Australian Orthopaedic Association Fellowship in Arthroplasty and Trauma and trained in Osseointegration and Arthroplasty in Macquire University Hospital Sydney.

Experience

Mr Merghani is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Beacon Hospital. He specialises in minimally invasive and accelerated rehab total hip replacement, robotic total hip replacement, partial knee replacement, robotic total knee replacement, and knee arthroscopic (key-hole) surgery. He is also an expert in ligament reconstructions, ligament graft, patellar stabilisations, knee preservation surgery and general orthopaedic trauma.

 

Mr Merghani has also published more than 35 publications. He has a special mention award in EFFORT in June 2019. Mr Merghani was also awarded the gold medal and first prize winner Sylvester O’Halloran in March 2012 and the Irish Orthopaedics Foot and Ankle Association Meeting first prize winner in May 2012. In June 2018, Mr Merghani was the debate winner of the AOA Tas-Branch meeting.
