Training
Dr Laura Slattery graduated from the University of Limerick Graduate Medical School in 2014, following completion of an undergraduate BSc in Biomedical, Health and Life Sciences in University College Dublin. She completed her Internship in Saint Vincent’s University Hospital, followed by Basic Specialist Training in General Medicine (including completion of MRCPI examination), and Higher Specialist Training in Nephrology and General Internal Medicine throughout Ireland. She undertook the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine of Ireland Fellowship, including completion of the JFICMI examination. She received her Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Training in Nephrology and General Internal Medicine in 2023, and her Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Training in Internal Medicine in 2024. She subsequently perused an International Fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine in King’s College Hospital in London.
Experience
Dr Slattery has over a decade of clinical experience in Critical Care Medicine, Nephrology, and General Internal Medicine across Model 3 and Model 4 hospitals in Ireland and the United Kingdom. She has a strong interest in quality improvement clinical education and research including completion of a Professional Diploma in Clinical Leadership, authoring a book chapter and review article, and active participation in national and international teaching in Intensive Care Medicine.
