Mr Farhan Tareen completed his specialist paediatric surgical training through the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (FCPS) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ireland (CST).

Experience:

Mr Tareen is a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon in Beacon for Kids and CHI Crumlin & Tallaght. Mr Tareen has  a particular interest in minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery and was instrumental in introducing neonatal thoracic minimally invasive procedures in Ireland, for conditions such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia and oesophageal atresia.
His clinical practice covers a wide range of paediatric surgical conditions, with specialist expertise in:
• Minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery
• Paediatric and neonatal surgery
• Gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery
• Congenital and developmental anomalies
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Tareen is actively engaged in surgical research and innovation, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing safe, evidence-based paediatric surgical practices. He also remains actively involved in medical education and contributing to the development of future paediatric surgeons.
