Training & Experience:
Dr Alan O’Hare is a highly experienced and skilled neuroradiologist, specializing in interventional neuroradiology. He received his medical degree (MB BCh BAO) from University College Dublin, followed by specialist training in radiology, earning his Certificate of Specialist Training in 2008. He furthered his education with a Master of Science (Radiological) from University College Dublin.
Dr O’Hare’s extensive training includes a fellowship in interventional neuroradiology with René Chapot at the renowned Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus in Essen, Germany, and a neuroradiology fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. He also completed a year at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. As a member of the team in Beaumont, where they have been offering 24/7 endovascular treatment for stroke patients since 2012, he has a huge breadth of experience in neurointerventional treatments of strokes, aneurysms, AVMs ,head and neck malformations and other conditions.
Since 2010, he has served as a Consultant/Staff Neuroradiologist at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. Dr O’Hare’s contributions to the field are substantial, including over 75 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He also plays an active role in the education of clinical fellows from around the world.
