Training:

Peter Meagher graduated from the RCSI in 1989. He did his basic surgical training in Dublin prior to specialising in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, which involved a six-year training programme in London. This included a year spent at The Rayne Institute at UCL researching Dupuytren’s Disease. On completion of training, he did a three-year Microsurgery Fellowship at The Bernard O’Brien Institute of Microsurgery in Melbourne.

Experience:

Mr Meagher was appointed Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon/Honorary Senior Lecturer in St. George’s Hospital, London in 2001. Mr Meagher returned to Dublin in 2007 and has held consultant posts in both St. James’ Hospital and St Vincent’s University Hospitals in Dublin.

Mr. Meagher’s specialist interests are:

Skin cancer including malignant melanoma, squamous/basal cell carcinoma and benign skin lesions.

All hand complaints including fractures and tendon injuries, Dupuytren’s, De Quervain’s and Carpal Tunnel Disease, in addition to hand reconstruction post trauma or cancer reconstruction.

Mr. Meagher has extensive experience in all areas of cosmetic surgery and has performed a wide range of surgical procedures over the last 20 years. He has a special interest in congenital and acquired breast disease, including breast Asymmetry, Gynecomastia, Pectus Excavatum, Poland’s Syndrome and reconstruction post-Mastectomy.
