Dr Monica Georgescu

Dr Georgescu graduated from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, in 2005, where she also completed her residency in neurology. She became a certified neurologist and practiced in an outpatient clinic for five years before broadening her expertise with a Master’s degree in Analytical Psychology.

She went on to train in psychoanalysis in Bucharest and at the CG Jung Institute of San Francisco, later earning certification as a Psychoanalyst with the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP). During her time in San Francisco, she maintained a private psychoanalytic practice for several years.

Dr Georgescu is a Consultant Neurologist at Beacon Hospital with a special interest in the management of a wide range of neurological conditions including headaches, functional neurological disorders, seizure disorders, movement disorders, and demyelinating diseases.

Following her relocation to Ireland, Dr Georgescu has worked as a Consultant Neurologist at Beaumont Hospital and Mater Private. Dr Georgescu is an active member of the Irish Institute for Clinical Neuroscience (IICN), the German Society for Neurology (DGN), and the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP).
