Training
Mr Dodds studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh and completed his higher surgical training in Orthopaedics in Ireland. He completed a research Maters degree in University College Dublin focussing on paediatric hip dysplasia.
Following completion of his orthopaedic training, Michael undertook a clinical fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery in SickKids Children’s Hospital in Toronto. He followed this with a second fellowship in Toronto dedicated to spinal surgery.
Experience
Mr Dodds is a Consultant Orthopaedics and Spinal Surgeon at NSI at Beacon Hospital.
He specializes in spinal surgery, complex deformity and spinal trauma, along with general paediatric orthopaedics and paediatric spine.
Michael also trains surgeons and medical students, and is involved in fellowship programmes.
His areas of academic interest include scoliosis, paediatric hip dysplasia and spinal surgery.
