Dr Catherine Foley

Dr. Catherine Foley, MB BCh BAO MRCPI, graduated with honours from University College Dublin (UCD) School of Medicine in 2008 and completed intership and basic medical training within the St. Vincent’s Healthcare group. During this time she was awarded membership of the RCPI. In 2011, she began her dermatology training at St. James’s Hospital and subsequently completed the highly competitive Irish Higher Specialist Training Scheme in Dermatology with rotations in Dublin, Cork and Galway.

After completing her dermatology residency, Catherine pursued further subspecialty fellowship training in skin cancer and genital dermatology, both male and female, at University College Hospital, London. She returned to Dublin in May 2019 to a consultant position at St. Vincent’s University Hospital before joining the Beacon Hospital Group in March 2020.

Catherine has maintained a dedication to excellence in patient care throughout her training and as a consultant. Her clinical interests include inflammatory skin diseases, acne, genital dermatoses and rapid diagnosis and management of skin cancer with same-day surgery for suspected melanoma. She is passionate about ensuring all physicians have access to Dermatology teaching and regularly facilitates small group peer learning through the CME networks in primary care and grand rounds within the hospital.

Catherine’s research interests include skin cancer and genital lichen sclerosus. She continues to work on several research projects through ongoing collaboration with University College London. In addition, she has written a chapter for Neonatal and Infant Dermatology, and regularly publishes her research findings in high impact international journals. She particularly enjoys presenting her research nationally and internationally and has been awarded multiple scholarships from the British Association of Dermatologists, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology and the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr Miriam Fitzgerald

Dr Miriam Fitzgerald MB BCh BAO (Hons), MRCPI, MCRP(UK), PG Cert Allergy, MCRP (Dermatology) is a Consultant Dermatologist on the Specialist Register with both the Irish Medical Council and the General Medical Council, UK.

Miriam was awarded a scholarship to complete her undergraduate Medical Degree in University College Dublin, during which she was awarded multiple awards and prizes including the Ambrose Birmingham Gold Medal in Anatomy.

After graduating with honours, she completed her basic medical training in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin and worked as a Dermatology SHO and Registrar Ireland before being awarded a prestigious and highly competitive position within a London Dermatology Training Scheme.

Miriam subsequently completed her Specialist Training in Dermatology within the world-renowned Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London and Imperial College London NHS Healthcare Trust which includes St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington and Charing Cross Hospital, where she was a Consultant Dermatologist.

Miriam has and continues to present nationally and internationally, having won many awards, most recently at the British Association of Dermatologists Annual Conference.

Due to ongoing professional achievements, including wining the Royal Society of Medicine Dermatology Trainee Award, she was also awarded the Medical Dean’s Scholarship to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Allergy at the esteemed Imperial College, London.

As a Consultant Dermatologist in London, Miriam has been regularly involved in continued medical education for both undergraduate and post-graduate medical professionals, has authored Dermatology book chapters and has taught on the St John’s Institute of Dermatologists Derm Academy Dermatology Consultant Examination Course, London

She is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, the Royal Society of Medicine, the Irish Association of Dermatologists, the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society of Medical Dermatology, the British Hair and Nail Society, the British Society for Cutaneous Allergy and the International Dermoscopy Society.
Miriam’s special interests include psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), acne, hair loss, genital dermatology, mole checks and skin cancer.

Dr Sharareh Ahmadi

Qualifications: MB, BCH, BAO, LRCPI&SI, MRCPI

Dr Sharareh Ahmadi graduated from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1995. She completed her Dermatology specialist training in Ireland and UK and then entered into the Irish Medical Council Specialist Register for Dermatology in 2005 (MCRN 19437).

Dr. Ahmadi is a member of Royal college of Physicians in Ireland and Member of Irish and British Association of Dermatology. Her special interest is skin cancer treatment and prevention, acne and Rosacea. The clinic is specialised in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.

Monday to Thursday 8.30am-4.00pm

Friday: No clinic. Phone hours 8.00am-4.00pm
