New EV-ICD Procedures in the Cath Lab

Beacon Hospital’s Cath Lab recently performed their first Medtronic Aurora EV-ICD implant procedures. The Aurora EV-ICD was implanted by Professor Kevin Walsh in collaboration with Professor Karen Redmond.
The Aurora EV-ICD is a new Extra Vascular Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator from Medtronic. It offers the benefits of a transvenous system with features like Antitachycardia Pacing (ATP) and Pause Prevention pacing.
Beacon Hospital are the first hospital in Ireland, and the second hospital in the UK to use the new EV-ICD.
Congratulations to Prof Redmond and all our staff in the Cath Lab on another great milestone! Huge well done to our Cath Lab team for providing this for our patients. Thanks also to Lisa Dunne and the Medtronic team for their assistance.
