Beacon Hospital Housekeeping Team Earns Third Consecutive Platinum CAP Award

Beacon Hospital is proud to announce our Housekeeping team has achieved the Platinum CAP Award for the third year in a row. This award represents the highest level of recognition within the Continuous Advancement Programme (CAP) Awards, which promotes excellence in cleanliness, hygiene and service standards in both housekeeping and catering.

A Platinum CAP Award is awarded to organisations who have received three Gold CAP Awards in successive years. A CAP Award is achieved through a rigorous process including an unannounced assessment which is carried out at any point within a 12-month period. This inspection reviews every aspect of housekeeping performance, including hands-on site assessments, schedules of work, training records, risk management procedures, documentation and key performance indicators related to quality. To achieve Platinum status, the assessment score must be consistently above 95%.

Securing this award three years consecutively demonstrates not only our team’s ability to meet the highest standard, but also their continued commitment to improving processes, maintaining rigorous infection-prevention practices and providing a safe and welcoming environment for all patients, visitors and staff.

Our Housekeeping Team play a vital role in supporting patient care, ensuring that every ward, waiting area, clinical room and public space meets the level of cleanliness and hygiene expected within a leading acute hospital. Their work is central to the smooth and safe running of our hospital.
