2025 Spring GP Study Day
Our 2025 Spring GP Study Day took place on Saturday 5th April in UCD O’Reilly Hall . Worth 6 CPD Points and 1 Day GMS Study Leave, our Study Day included presentations from Orthopaedics, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology and featured all things Neuro. This Study Day was Chaired by Prof Seamus Linnane, Deputy Medical Director and Consultant in Respiratory & General Internal Medicine.
Our early morning session began with Dr Carmen Torre, giving a Masterclass on Gynecomastia, Breast Asymmetry and Breast Reductions.
Mr Mohsen Javadpour began our first session speaking on Screening for Brain Aneurysms. Dr Patrick Nicholson covered Pulsatile Tinnitus from Diagnosis to Treatment. Dr Anna Whelehan discussed When to Refer for NCS and EMG. Dr Paul Shanahan gave a GP Update on Management of Migraines. Finally, Assoc Prof Anhar Hassan presented her Clinical Pearls for Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders.
Mr Diarmuid Molony opened our second session with a with Shoulder Case Studies in Primary Care. Dr Tommy Hennessy spoke on Chest Pain in Everyday Practice. Prof Jonathan Lyne followed with advice on When to Refer to an Arrhythmia Clinic. Dr Javaneh Lyons presented on Understanding Spondyloarthritis from Diagnosis to Treatment. Finally we had an informative presentation on Hyperandrogenism in Primary Care by Dr Wan Aizad Wan Mahmood.
