After completing a degree in pharmaceutical science, he was a member of the first intake of medical students in UL in 2007, and graduated with honours in 2011. During his cardiology training, he worked in major teaching hospitals across Ireland including University Hospital Limerick, St James Hospital, Beaumont Hospital and Tallaght Hospital. Dr O’Connor travelled to St Michaels Hospital in Toronto for sub-speciality cardiology training through the University of Toronto.
