New Oncology Exercise Intervention Research
Beacon Hospital partners with Novartis Ireland in order to open New Oncology Exercise Intervention Research project.
The Oncology and Research teams at Beacon Hospital are delighted to partner with Novartis Ireland in order to open our new Exercise Intervention Research project.
This project has seen a specialized exercise bike positioned in the Day Oncology Unit. Patients are scheduled to use the bike at timed intervals throughout their chemotherapy treatment.
Preliminary research has shown the incredible positive impact moderate intensity exercise has on cancer patients during their treatment.
Beacon Hospital’s Research Institute studies hope to gather valuable data to help to shape the future of cancer treatment. This may influence both success of treatment and maximizing quality of life for patients during their cancer treatment cycles.
A huge thank you to our partners in this project at Novartis. Thank you also to our internal Oncology and Research Institute team members whose hard work and collaboration has made running these essential trials possible.
