Anthony Pierce Spoke to Newstalk About Plantar Fasciitis
Anthony Pierce, Senior Musculosketal Physiotherapist here at Beacon Hospital, spoke to Newstalk’s Kieran Cuddihy about Plantar Fasciitis.
Plantar Fasciitis is a pain on the sole of the foot, usually around the heel. The pain is usually worst after periods of inactivity, and patients often describe it being like walking on glass or needles.
Anthony discussed the risk factors for plantar fasciitis which are mainly age, weight and activity. It often arises in people returning to exercise, and more cases are being seen after exercise routines were changed over lockdowns.
