250 Cardiac Ablations for Prof Lyne with our QDOT Micro Catheter
This month we are delighted to mark 250 Cardiac Ablations for Prof Jonathan Lyne with our QDOT Micro Catheter.
In 2022, Beacon Hospital together with Prof Lyne, became the only hospital in Ireland to use the new Biosense Webster QDOT Micro Catheter for cardiac ablation.
Prof Jonathan Lyne, Director of Electrophysiology and Consultant Cardiologist has been using the new QDOT Micro Catheter during his Cath Lab cardiac ablation procedures at Beacon Hospital. Prof Lyne has now performed 250 cardiac ablation procedures with the QDOT Micro Catheter and is one of the most experienced operators with this technology in Europe.
The QDOT Micro Catheter significantly improves ablation efficiency which reduces procedure time.
About the Biosense Webster QDOT Micro Catheter
Biosense Webster, Inc.’s QDOT MICRO radiofrequency (RF) ablation catheter is a next-generation catheter and more powerful than its more traditional counterparts.
It is the first catheter to enable ablation at up to 90 watts of RF power for up to four seconds in a temperature-controlled ablation mode. Due to this increased power, along with consistent lesion creation, the procedure becomes more efficient, thus reducing the amount of time patients need to be under a general anaesthetic.
Congratulations to Prof Lyne and all in Beacon Hospital’s Electrophysiology team and the Cath Lab on this achievement!
