The David Simulator Came to Beacon Hospital
The David Simulator came to Beacon Hospital! Recently, Dr Jonathan Lyne, Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist at Beacon Hospital, was able to try out the David Simulator with Biosense Webster. The David Simulator is an electrophysiology surgery simulator with a silicone heart in a saline solution at body temperature.
It is a valuable education resource and a great method to improve catheter manipulations skills and ablation for atrial fibrillation.
The David Simulator is a crucial training tool, as the heart model allows for surgery simulation. This equipment can be used for both surgeons to practice or trial run surgeries, and for training and teaching purposes of complex surgeries.
