Prof Reza Kalbassi talks Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) on Newstalk.

Prof Reza Kalbassi, Consultant in Colorectal, General and Minimally Invasive Surgery here at Beacon Hospital, spoke to Newstalk’s Kieran Cuddihy yesterday evening about Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).
Prof Kalbassi talk causes, symptoms and treatment for this extremely common condition. IBS is more common in women than in men. It can begin at any age with many aged in their teens suffering from the condition.
Prof Kalbassi reminds us that the most important thing to do if you suspect you may have this condition is to contact your GP. Your GP will be able to advise and refer you for necessary investigations to confirm the diagnosis or more importantly, to rule out a more sinister cause for your symptoms.
