Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine GP Study Day

Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine GP Study Day

Our Orthopaedics & Sport Medicine September GP Study Day on  took place on Saturday 17th September 2022. As it was a hybrid event, we were delighted to welcome a limited number of GPs to join us in UCD O’Reilly Hall and attend the event in-person. It is the first time since January 2020 we were able to have GPs physically attend.

The morning kicked off with a workshop from Mr Jabir Nagaria, Consultant Neurosurgeon and Ms Johanna Doyle, Clinical Specialist MSK Physiotherapist, on Practical Examination Techniques and Red Flags for the Spine.

Our first session contained four great presentations from Mr Turlough O’Donnell, Mr Yasser Aljabi, Mr Brendan O’Daly, Anthony Pierce and Mr Olan Carmody. After a quick coffee break, our second session contained three more brilliant presentations by Mr Muiris Kennedy, Mr Khalid Merghani and Mr Joseph Queally. Finally, Mr Maurice Neligan, Mr Alan Byrne and Mr Ian Byrne held a Multidisciplinary Panel Discussion on Sporting Knee Injuries.

We would like to thank all of speakers on Saturday for their highly informative presentations. If you missed our Study Day, or would like to rewatch any of the sessions, the presentations are now available to view in the GP section of our website, on our September GP Study Day event page.

Thank you to all for attending our Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine GP Study Morning, and for submitting your questions. Please note attendance certificates have been sent to the email address you logged in with on the day.

We look forward to welcoming you all to our next GP Educational event. Register now for our Annual GP Study Day in January 2023.
