International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12th on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. It is a day to highlight the vital role of nurses and an important opportunity to focus on the advancement of the nursing profession, as well as promote the well-being of nurses.

This year the International Council of Nurses (ICN) celebrates Nurses Day with the aim to reshape perceptions of nursing, demonstrating how strategic investment in nursing can bring considerable economic and societal benefits. The theme for Nurses Day 2024 is “Our Nurses. Our Future. The economic power of care.”

We are fortunate to have an exceptional team of nurses at Beacon Hospital. Our nurses have established an outstanding level of care by continuing to go above and beyond for each and every one of our patients. They truly exemplify the profession and Beacon Hospital.

Nursing is a highly-skilled, safety- critical profession. Our Nurses dedicate themselves to providing the best possible care for our patients, from the moment they enter, to the moment they leave the hospital, and every moment in between. Our Nurses make a huge difference to so many lives each and every day.

Celebrations for our Wonderful Nurses at Beacon Hospital

It is so important to recognise the incredible role our Nurses play every day across the Hospital. We are marking International Nurses Day on Friday 10th May. To celebrate our wonderful Nurses at Beacon Hospital we have some fun activities planned, including Competitions, Cupcakes & Ice-Cream!
