Dr Grant offers advice on the recovery and potential after effects for a patient due to have a hysterectomy. A hysterectomy is the removal of the womb. In this particular patient’s case a hysterectomy is needed to prevent endometrial cancer. Dr Grant details the stages of the procedure and the advantages or disadvantages of different methods, such as a Laparoscopic Hysterectomy.
After a hysterectomy, Dr Grant recommends to take it easy and avoid heavy lifting or straining for a few weeks, noting it generally takes anything from two to eight weeks to get back to the majority of daily activities.
