Ms Phoebe Roche is a Consultant Otolaryngologist at Beacon Hospital, with a specialised practice in Head and Neck, Thyroid, and Skull Base Surgery.
She has extensive experience across leading UK and Irish tertiary referral centres and in addition to Beacon Hospital, she currently holds a substantive Consultant Head and Neck Surgeon post at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In these roles, she delivers complex oncological, endocrine, and reconstructive head and neck surgery, with particular expertise in minimally invasive techniques.
Training & Education:
After graduating UCD, Ms Roche completed her higher surgical training through the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. She subsequently undertook a prestigious Post-CCT Fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Her training and consultant career feature internationally recognised centres including Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial College Healthcare, and Barts Health, reflecting Ms Roche’s broad exposure to high-volume and high-complexity practice.

Her subspecialist interests cover the spectrum of benign and malignant head and neck disease, including laryngology, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, anterior and lateral skull base surgery, transoral robotic surgery, and endoscopic sinonasal surgery. Ms Roche also has expertise in functional nasal surgery, salivary gland surgery including sialendoscopy, skin cancer management, and complex reconstruction using local and pedicled flaps. Additionally, she maintains practice in non-surgical aesthetic injectables.
Along with her clinical practice, Ms Roche has established a distinguished academic profile. She has held lecturing and supervisory roles at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and served as Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the department of targeted intervention University College London. She contributes regularly to postgraduate education, advanced surgical skills training, and cadaveric dissection courses.
Ms Roche holds a Masters in Surgery, a Doctor of Medicine by Research and has authored book chapters and numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals. Her research interests include medical device development, regenerative medicine, predictive modelling in healthcare, and the clinical translation of advanced technologies. She has secured competitive research funding and contributes to multiple international clinical trials.
