Rapid Access Hip and Knee Service for OsteoArthritis (OA)
At Beacon Hospital we offer the fastest access to Specialist Hip and Knee Orthopaedic Consultants (For radiologically diagnosed OA hips and kness).
Beacon Hospitals Rapid Access Hip and Knee Service is available to patients suffering from Hip or Knee Osteoarthritis. Patients referred into this rapid access service will be seen by a consultant within one week and if surgery is required this can be arranged within the month. This is the fastest access to private hip and knee consult and surgery in Ireland.
Surgery can be arranged within the month for the following procedures:
- Total hip replacement including minimally invasive approaches.
- Total and partial knee replacement including robotic surgical options
A GP referral is required for this service. To facilitate rapid access patients will be seen by the next available specialist consultant within the week.

Referrals for this service can be sent via Healthlink and must be addressed to “Dear Consultants’ and not to a specific consultant.
