Training & Education
Mr Robb graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2000 and completed his higher surgical training in Ireland. He went on to undertake a prestigious fellowship in the Department of Digestive Disease Oncology in Lille, France, one of Europe’s foremost centres for minimally invasive surgery of the oesophagus and stomach. He also trained in leading bariatric units across Switzerland, England, France, and Portugal, further developing his expertise in advanced surgical techniques.
Following his fellowship, Mr Robb was appointed as a Consultant in the Bristol Royal Infirmary in 2013, where he worked for two years before returning to Dublin in 2015.
Experience
Mr William Robb is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) and Bariatric Surgeon who specialises in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for the oesophagus, stomach, and weight loss surgery. He also has extensive experience in the treatment of gallstone disease and hernias.
Since returning to Dublin, Mr Robb has established a high-volume practice in upper GI and bariatric surgery. His reputation as a leader in robotic surgery has led to surgeons from the UK and Europe training under his guidance.
Mr Robb has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and several book chapters in the field of upper GI surgery. He is a member of the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS) and the European Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ESDE). Passionate about innovation, he continues to introduce new technologies and modern surgical approaches to deliver the best outcomes for patients.
