Training & Experience:
Mr Andrew Diver is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in Beacon Hospital and St Vincent’s University Hospital, specialising in trauma, with interests in burns, hand surgery and skin cancer.
Mr Diver trained in Belfast, London and Auckland, New Zealand. After he completed his training, he joined the GMC specialist register and worked as a consultant in Newcastle upon Tyne and later in The Royal London Hospital, where he was made substantive. Mr Diver then returned to Ireland to be closer to family.
Mr Diver is a full Member of British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and a Full Member of the Irish Association of Plastic Surgeons for whom he serves on the Scientific Committee. He is also on the Irish Medical Council Specialist Register of Plastic Surgeons.
Additionally, he is a Member Faculty Surgical Trainers (Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh), Regional Surgical Advisor for Northern Ireland, Deputy Chairman and Education lead of the Plastic Surgical Specialty Board, Deputy lead for Mentorship and past Academy of Medical Royal Colleges representative (all for RCSEd).
He is an Instructor on an International Burns course (EMSB), and has an active academic life with over 40 publications in peer reviewed journals. He reviews for a number of international journals including PRS, JPRAS and The Surgeon (RCSEd). He is also an Editiorial Board Member for PRS journal, the largest Plastic surgery journal worldwide.
In his free time Mr Diver enjoys keeping fit and spending time with his family.
