Mr Graeme Rogers

Mr Graeme Rogers specialises in the surgery and treatment of diseases of the optic nerve and the back of the eye as well as cataract surgery.

Mr Rogers completed a two-year fellowship in the treatment of complex surgical and medical retinal disease in Dublin in 2017, after which he moved to the Wellington Eye Clinic on the Beacon Medical Campus

Previously in 2014, he had sub-specialised as Glaucoma fellow in Melbourne, Australia at the prestigious Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. This holistic glaucoma training was augmented by a specific role in weekly uveitic glaucoma clinics.

He has also visited renowned international units in four continents to master further technologically-advanced surgeries in his areas of expertise. He has published 14 papers in peer reviewed journals and presented at numerous international conferences.

He originally graduated from medicine in the University of Cape Town , and spent the following eight years specialising in clinical and surgical ophthalmology at the University as well as Groote Schuur Hospital which included a two-year cataract fellowship at Eerste River Hospital in Cape Town.

Mr Rogers is passionate about outreach eye surgery and teaching in indigent communities, having performed and taught thousands of cataract and glaucoma surgeries in more than 30 hospitals in sub-Saharan Africa for aid organisations.
