Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Beacon Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has the most comprehensive private Intensive Care service in Ireland.

Beacon Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, (ICU), is located on the third floor of the hospital. This unit is JCI and VHI accredited and provides dedicated, advanced specialised care to critically ill patients.

The ICU is an 8 bedded unit and all patients are cared for in single isolation rooms. This ensures our patients are treated in the safest possible environment.

Intensive Care Unit

The ICU is run jointly with our High Dependency Unit, or HDU, and the Coronary Care Unit, CCU. The Units are led by a dynamic team of highly specialised and qualified Consultant Intensivists, Anaesthetists, Critical Care Nurses, all supported by our team of Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Dietitians and 24-hour Anaesthetic Registrars.

Our ICU has the latest in medical technologies available to our patients 24/7. This includes non-invasive and advanced mechanical ventilation, continuous haemodynamic monitoring systems, renal replacement therapy, Ireland’s most technologically advanced radiology equipment, an enhanced thoracic recovery program amongst others.
