Johanna initially graduated with an Honours degree in Pharmacology from the University of Aberdeen and went on to study Physiotherapy, graduating with a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Brighton in 2005. She has also successfully completed the clinical modules towards an MSc in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire. Johanna has also gained further qualifications in acupuncture and pilates and has undertaken additional postgraduate training in vestibular rehabilitation.
Johanna has gained considerable experience in both the private and public sectors, initially rotating as a Junior & Senior Physiotherapist in Brighton NHS Trust, she then went on to specialise as a Senior in Musculoskeletal Outpatients at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, a renowned teaching hospital in London. Johanna then worked as Lead Physiotherapist in Hydrotherapy in addition to her senior role in Musculoskeletal Outpatients in the Harley Street hospital, The London Clinic. She has also worked with a number of elite sports teams during her career, including Irish Basketball teams, Brighton and Hove Albion girl’s Academy for Excellence, and various rugby teams. Johanna’s role in the Beacon is shared between Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Orthopaedic Clinics & Beacon Pain Clinic.
