Anthony Pierce BA (Hons), MSc (Hons), MSc (Hons), MHCPC, MISCP
Anthony qualified as a Charted Physiotherapist in 2010 following a four-year degree in Natural Sciences with moderatorship in Physiology at Trinity College Dublin. Recently, Anthony received a Masters in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy from University of Hertfordshire. He has completed other postgraduate courses in dry needling, acupuncture, shockwave therapy, spinal presentations and persistent pain. He has a particular interest and expertise in treating patients with lower limb injuries, specifically the foot and ankle and is currently a member of the Association of Foot and Ankle Physiotherapists (AFAP).
Anthony held a senior role at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London where he was involved in the triage of GP referrals and rehabilitation of complex knee ligament reconstructions amongst other orthopaedic operations. Recently, Anthony left his post as Team Lead Physiotherapist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London to return home to Dublin. In this post, Anthony project managed a Local Guideline for hip tendinopathy and for this subject was on the National Institute of Health Research expert review panel. Anthony gained excellent experience working in Imperial, a major London orthopaedic trauma centre, treating post operative upper limb, spinal and lower limb injuries.
Anthony has worked for several physiotherapy practices and Spire Hospital where he liaised closely with sports medicine and pain consultants. Within the sports setting, Anthony held a role with Ipswich Town Football Club, provided academy pitch side treatment for Harlequins and Saracens and is currently physiotherapist for Carlow Senior GAA football team.
