Andy McDonough

Senior Physiotherapist Musculoskeletal Outpatients

Andy graduated from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy and is currently studying a masters in sports and exercise medicine in the University of Ulster.  He is a member of the CPSEM in Ireland.  Andy has a certificate in manual therapy and continues to develop his physiotherapy skills completing courses in Acupuncture, Pilates, K-tape and functional rehabilitation.

He has worked in a wide variety of settings, initially in hospitals in New Zealand and Liverpool in both inpatients and outpatients.  Andy also works in the HSE as a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in outpatients.  Over the last 6 years, Andy has specialised in musculoskeletal dysfunction and sports injuries.  He has a passion for both sport and physiotherapy which has allowed him initially work in rugby league with Leigh Centurions and St Helens.  He also worked two seasons with Bolton Wanderers Football Club and began full time work in elite sport with Gloucester Rugby where he spent three seasons.  More recently, Andy was Head Academy Physiotherapist at Leinster Rugby and is currently Senior Physiotherapist at Lansdowne FC who won the AIL in 2014-2015. 

He has an interest in late stage rehabilitation and wants to complete his UKSCA in strength and conditioning by the end of 2017.
