Welcome to Paediatric Physiotherapy in Beacon Hospital.
The Paediatric Physiotherapy Department provides a service to children who may present with:
- Developmental delay
- Dyspraxia / Developmental Co-ordination Disorder
- Complex physical disability
- Torticollis / plagiocephaly
- Acute or Chronic Respiratory disease
- Musculoskeletal variances – flat foot, knock knees, in toeing, out toeing, toe walking
- Musculoskeletal pain
To refer for an out-patient appointment, please send a written referral and post/fax to the Allied Therapy department in the Beacon Hospital. Alternatively, please contact 01-293 6692 to make an appointment. Self referrals are also welcome.

Eimear is a Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist with a wide range of paediatric clinical experience from acute services to school-based assessments, along with managerial, administrative and research expertise. Eimear graduated from University College Dublin with an honours BSc in Physiotherapy in 1999, and subsequently with an honours MSc in Healthcare management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2007.
Eimear is an enthusiastic paediatric physiotherapist with experience in assessment and treatment of a range of paediatric conditions from acute injuries to complex disability, toe walking, musculoskeletal disorders, developmental delay, developmental co-ordination disorder, scoliosis, torticollis, pain and many more.
Eimear’s particular area of interest is in developmental therapy for developmental delay, co-ordination disorders and complex disability. Early intervention and guided therapy through play can help children overcome their difficulties and reach their potential in a supported and fun environment.
Eimear has attended extensive training to continue to update and develop her knowledge and expertise, she has presented at conferences nationally and internationally based on research conducted. She is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and the Chartered Physiotherapists in Paediatrics subgroup.
