The Back Rehabilitation Programme is multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme for patients with low back pain and post-spinal surgery.
The aim of the programme is to increase physiological well-being, function and to reduce pain through exercise and education.
The programme consists of 6 one-hour exercise classes and 4 thirty-minute education classes over 6 weeks.
The physiotherapy lead exercise classes’ focus on improving lumbar core stability, mobility, fitness and function and together with the education classes aim to increase pain management skills. The education talks are delivered by the Physiotherapist, the Pain Nurse Specialist, the Clinical Dietician and the Occupational Therapist.
The patient will have a physiotherapy assessment with a Beacon hospital physiotherapist before attending the class to ensure suitability.
