Training:
Mr. Mara completed his orthopaedic specialty training in the U.S. in 1995, studying under renowned reconstructive hand surgeon Mr. Alfred B. Swanson. In 2001, he completed advanced fellowship training in surgery of the hand, including microvascular, paediatric, congenital, and adult reconstruction.
Experience:
At Beacon Hospital, Mr. Mara specialises in all aspects of upper extremity surgery, including shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions. He emphasizes minimally invasive “keyhole” surgery for shoulder and elbow pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and Dupuytren’s disease, as well as arthritis of the hand and wrist.
Mr. Mara also serves on the trauma team, providing fracture care aimed at rapid recovery to sports and daily activities.
