Experience:

Mr. Cashman has a keen interest in treated hip problems in the young adult, whether treating sports related hip problems with hip arthroscopy or treating the younger patient with hip deformity.   Hip arthroscopy is useful for removing loose bodies or debris from the hip and removing tears of the labrum or cartilage of the hip. These can cause groin and thigh pain, catching, locking or giving way of the hip. Diagnosis is made by clinical examination, plain x-rays and an MRI scan.

He has published numerous peer reviewed articles in basic science and clinical orthopaedics, as well as texts on hip and knee arthroplasty. His interests include primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. He also has a further subspecialty interest in the Young Adult Hip, performing hip arthroscopy, pelvic and femoral osteotomies.
