Mr Joseph Fournier
Mr Joseph Fournier has international fellowship training in all aspects of adult and paediatric spine surgery, including paediatric spinal deformity.
Mr Fournier studied medicine in France, and spent a year in Trinity College Dublin during his basic surgical training. He completed his higher Orthopaedic Surgical training and also received a prize for the best result in France’s Greater Western Region in the final exam.
Mr Fournier spent two years in the French National Research Institute, while also working as an attending trauma surgeon in a Level 1 Trauma Centre. Following this, Mr Fournier spent two years as a Paediatric Orthopaedic Consultant in Clocheville Paediatric in Tours. Mr Fournier went on to complete the National Spinal Deformity Fellowship in Edinburgh, Scotland, in one of the largest centres for deformity in the UK. Mr Fournier completed the Spinal Fellowship Newcastle-upon-Tyne which covered all aspects of adult spinal surgery.
Mr Fournier is a Spine Surgeon with experience in treating degenerative conditions of the spine, and spinal pain management procedures.
Mr Fournier has been practicing as a spinal consultant since 2017, both in Dublin and France.
Mr Fournier also has a strong academic background, with a MD, and a MS in Biophysics and Medical Imaging. Mr Fournier is a certified Clinical Investigator under EU guidelines, with more than 20 publications, a book chapter and an International patent.
