Experience:

Dr Moran brings to Beacon Hospital her particular expertise in endocrine disorders, having led the thyroid service in Cambridge, where she developed specialist services (endocrine disease in pregnancy, rare thyroid disorders, alemtuzumab induced thyroid dysfunction and virtual clinics), expanded a multidisciplinary thyroid biopsy clinic and conducted busy general thyroid and endocrine clinics.

She has an interest in investigation of discordant thyroid function, having directed a national referral service for patients in the UK. Through collaboration with the University of Cambridge, she continues to perform research on rare thyroid disease and has published over 25 papers describing results of original research, as well as review papers and book chapters.

Significant teaching contributions include developing and leading components of the Professionalism Curriculum for medical students at the University of Cambridge, delivering undergraduate teaching and examining at MB level. She has also developed a highly successful thyroid masterclass for postgraduate trainees in the UK.

Dr Moran frequently receives strongly positive feedback from patients on her clinical care and service development; she engages regularly with patient societies such as the British Thyroid Foundation as a voluntary speaker and medical expert.

Her reputation is reflected in invitations to perform roles in national societies (British Thyroid Association, Society for Endocrinology, American Thyroid Association), speak at national and international conferences, as well as invited membership of European guideline development committees for thyroid disease.
