Dr. Jennifer Dineen is a graduate of UCC Medical School. She pursued a career in Neurology through the RCPI and completed training with three Harvard Medical School fellowships in Massachusetts General, Brigham & Women’s and Beth Israel Hospitals, 2013-16, focusing on neuromuscular medicine, autonomic and peripheral nerve neurology/ neurophysiology and intraoperative neurophysiology. During neurology training she obtained a Masters in Neuroimaging through the University of Edinburgh.
She has a broad range of expertise in areas such as migraine, epilepsy, stroke, movement disorders and others. Her specialist areas of interest include the diagnosis and treatment of patients with autonomic and peripheral nerve disorders. Currently she is the only neurologist in Ireland with subspecialty training in autonomic neurology. She has subspecialty training also in intraoperative neurophysiology allowing neurological function monitoring during challenging orthopaedic and neurosurgery cases. In addition to the standard neurological services, she performs nerve conduction studies, EMG and autonomic function testing thereby providing a comprehensive patient service.
Dr. Dineen is on the specialist register in neurology of the Irish Medical Council, a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and has membership of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Society of Clinical Neurophysiology. She has published a number of articles and book chapters on peripheral nerve and autonomic neurology as well as intraoperative neurophysiology.
